Many students are not reading at grade level by the time they reach 3rd Grade. By 3rd Grade, children must be reading to learn, rather than learning to read. This is a growing challenge at the elementary level which affects a child's academic confidence and long-term success.

Some individual elementary schools show reading proficiency as low as ~20–23%, meaning 77–80% of students are below grade level in reading at those schools

Our Solution

Fay Hope Association’s goal is to help close this gap by bringing credentialed teachers into after-school programs to support early learners.

We will focus on helping students, especially Kinder through 2nd Grade, develop strong:

●  Reading skills

●  Writing skills

●  Foundational literacy skills

• Building Life Skills Too

  We also believe every child needs tools for life. Through our structured board games curriculum, and small-group activities, students will learn:
